NEW ORLEANS - FUN TIMES

New Orleans has been very good to us. We've been able to walk all around downtown and enjoy the pleasant weather and sites. We were even able to make a Mardi Gras parade - the Krewe du Vieux.
One of many telephone poles that doubles as a sign post.

Will enjoys the fountain at the Royal Cafe Blend - great place!

Just for fun!

NEW ORLEANS - FIRST SAIL

Saturday January 31st was a nice day for sailing. The wind was at 5-10 knots, the temperature was in the high 60s and it was clear skies! So off we went making between 1.5 and 3 knots under sail. It was quite pleasant!

The mezzine under sail.

Our first boat race - there are two sailboats behind us. They never did catch up to us!

NEW ORLEANS - SCHUBERTS

Yay! Schubert's Marine - they are so sweet and helpful. Absolutely some of the most personable people we have ever met.

Here we are, all docked up.

A nice bridge in the park across from Schuberts. Schuberts is located at the West End park - it's very nice and is quite pedestrian friendly.

Here is the inlet we came into in the dark and rainy night. We had veared to the right, we were suppose to go to the left - between the buildings. It's pretty shallow to the right - we got down to 5 feet!!
